Kerja yg tak siap membuat aku malas nak mengupdate tapi tah cemana terasa nak tulis something gak.Yup,aku masih sedang cuba selesaikan kerja aku yg terbengkalai sejak bulan puasa ari tu tapi nampak cam boleh habis by awal nov ni.Tak sabar rasanya sebab nak sambung ANDIKA komik balik.Bukan tu saja,banyak juga beberpa projek berkaitan perlu mula di jalankan.

Aku juga mula terpikir nak mengeluarkan segala idea cerita komik aku dalam bentuk penulisan combine ngan beberapa artwork.Nak kata grafik novel pun cam tak jugak.Tapi mungkin ia akan jadi begitu juga bergantung kepada tahap kerajinan aku.Idea asal nak buat cam artbook with a story.Nak buat buku camtu modal kene besar jadi mungkin buat kat blog je lah kot.Mungkin ada beberapa kawan aku yang dah kenal lama aku familiar dengan beberapa title2 aku yg sudah lama terperam ni.Title yg mostly tercipta sejak tahun 90an lagi di mana era komik tgh berkembang pesat dan anime mula menular di Malaysia.Most aku punya cerita panjang2 jadi nak lukis semua tak cukup tgn dan tak larat so dengan cara ini je kot aku boleh buat secara logik.

Bab menulis tu memang aku ada masalah sikit.Aku cuba dulu cemana.Kalau ada org nak tuliskan pun best jugak tapi aku takde duit nak bayo.Susah2 aku bantai tulis cam aku bercerita ngan org je atau buat style skrip hehehe.Mana yg boleh kasi org fahamlah.

Konsep ni akan di selang seli dengan beberapa artwork sketchy dan full paint(kalau rajin atau ada masa).Mcm artbook style.Ada description ttg character dan world dia cam buku Star Wars Encyclopedia.Aku cuba nak kasi world dan cerita yg aku buat ni 'hidup' dalam minda sesiapa yang membacanya.Aku hanya mencuba.

Mungkin untuk cerita pertama ni aku akan buat GUARDIANS OF THE GATE dulu kot sebab plot dia dah ada lengkap.Tinggal nak huraikan dalam bentuk cerita sahaja.

Sinopsisnya ialah dunia di ketika itu adalah future 50 tahun selepas perang Nuklear.Manusia mula pesat membangunkan tamadun yg hancur.Dunia sudah berubah.Walaupun terdapat beberapa tpt serba canggih namum mereka tinggal di dalam environment yg tercemar.Matahari jarang kelihatan di selimuti awan mendung.
Kehidupan 8 budak remaja jalanan berubah apabila mereka terjumpa seketul rantai bertatahkan
kristal magik yang di percayai digunakan oleh pihak kerajaan mereka untuk menjana tenaga dan juga senjata nuklear mereka semula.Rantai itu juga adalah merupakan kunci kepada pintu portal atau Gate Dimension kepada dunia magik di mana dunianya penuh dengan tanah hijau yang segar serta udara yang bersih.Remaja2 ini kemudian di beri misi untuk membawa orang2 yang menderita hidupnya untuk tinggal di sini dan mula hidup baru dan bila selesai,mereka juga akan tinggal di situ.Apa yang akan berlaku seterusnya adalah lebih katastrofik dari ini semua.

Tunggulah kemunculannya nanti yg akan di beritahu kelak.

Redah Belukar Yang Tak Sudah.....

Aku masih sedang berusaha menyiapkan kerja2 ku yang terbengkalai semenjak bulan puasa hari tu.Aku juga sedang mengawal mood aku yang agak tak berapa stabil sekarang.Ye lah,kalau tak kawal aku boleh jadi malas semula dan kerja jadi makin terdrag.Bila dah drag duit takde bila duit takde paham2 je lah cemana nak handle bil dan hutangkan.

Penjualan komik selepas Raya agak sedikit slow memandangkan kesibukan yg melanda namun minggu lepas aku bawak komik Andika jual di IPCC 2011 dan alhamdulillah penjualannya telah berjaya buat aku beli seluar celoreng idaman aku kat Uniqlo hahaha!

Tentang IPCC 2011 kali ini memang sengit dan menarik! Aku akui tak tgk semua contestant present sebab aku kejap rayau masuk bilik animation dan kejap rayau masuk bilik komik.Tapi everytime aku masuk mana2 bilik ni,most of the group/company has shown great presentation and ideas.Memang aku dapt rasakan pertarungan idea di antara mereka2 ini.Mutu presentation juga makin improve dan meyakinkan.Judge juga makin tegas namun tetap profesional.

Melihat rakan2 present ngan idea2 mantap dan menang memboost spirit aku secara terus!Namun aku terpaksa siapkan kerja terbengkalai aku ni dulu.

Selain itu apa yang terbaru ialah aku berjaya dapat booth untuk jual komik ANDIKA di COMIC FIESTA 2011 di KL Convention Centre.Bersama join ngan aku nanti ialah komik SAGA dan Tangh dengan ARTBOOK nya.

Kekadang rasa sedih bila kita rasa kita bawak produk kita ni secara solo dan macam takde orang yang care about it.Bila tgk kat facebook dan event mereka di mention dan di selit ke dalam iklan...tapi pasal itu jugaklah aku berazam untuk terus pergi tanpa sokongan diorang.Maybe produk aku tak cukup prestige untuk diorang.Takpe.Biar aku buktikan level produk aku tinggi mana.

Facebook sudah membantu jualan komik Andika aku better dari website2 yang ada related dengan art and comic.Kenapa ye? Nampaknya aku seperti di sisih dari genre sendiri? Aku sentiasa compare setiap hari between web sosial ngan web art related yg kononnya support artis.Web sosial done better.Sgt frustating.Ada nepotisma di dalam komuniti art tempatan ke?

Suasana ini sangat pelik.Di zaman internet tidak wujud aku adalah antara artis komik yg bermati matian nak hidup ngan komik aku di waktu sume org berkiblatkan katun lawak.Unity dengan bebudak komik walupun sikit tapi sangat kuat.Sekarang aku masih lagi struggle cuma sedikit bijak dari dulu sebab belajar dr pengalaman lampau boleh nampak tidak ada unity dalam artis.Aku tak bermaksud nak kene aktif dalam persatuan sume.Tapi spirit.Aku dapat rasakan artis2 muda skrg kurang unity dan lebih kepada kgkwn.Too bad and too sad.

Anyway....life goes on.Tempur Terus dalam nada yg sedih......

Appresiasi dan Satisfaksi

Haaaaa......Lama giler tak singgah sini.Ok.Kalau ada yg follow blog ni ( gila sedeh...hehe)Komik Andika aku telah di hantar print last week kat Summit.27hb Julai ni siap katanya.Aku benar2 berharap output finalnya presentable.Komik ini sebenarnya ada 2 part so yg nak keluar ni adalah part 1.Harga rm15 ,52 pages,kertas matt art tebal dan full color.Print limited 200 copies je pasal self fundkan.Hopefully everything goes well.

Sekarang ni aku tgh terpaksa bertungkus lumus menyiapkan job storyboard yg agak panjang scenenya pasal ia adalah movie project.Aku tgh rabak kekeringan sebab ikat perut untuk bayar duit print.Jadi nak tanak kene siapkan secepat mungkin.Ah...nasib hidup freelancer inilah dia.Penat tapi nampak hasil...takpe.

Walaupun komik sendiri aku nak keluar aku still ada rasa down...inspirasi bercelaru....bagai api lilin yang di tiup angin...berusaha untuk terus menyala.Jadi aku cuba cari inspirasi dengan meng-google nama nanzotaro aku....oh seronok pasal dia top on the search list...Than aku taip 'komik Malaysia'.Aku klik kat Komik Malaysia Wikipedia.Di situ ada tersenarai nama2 komik Malaysia dan.........nama aku takde.Nama budak baru ada tapi nama aku takda.Tersedih kejap.

Aku punya la struggle zaman 90an buat komik dan hasil dah kuar kat Anak2 Sidek ngan Keluangman dan sewaktu dgnnya dan nama aku langsung takde.Adakah sebab aku tak aktif Pekomik?....Aku pun siap cuba nak edit letak nama aku kat situ....GAGAL!Tak boleh!Demmm!
Tiba tiba aku terasa seperti tidak di iktiraf dan tidak dihargai.

Aku terus terbayang aku terduduk kesedihan di sebuah bukit yang rendah...melihat matahari terbenam...emo scene.And than aku pikir kenapa aku nak rasa sedih.Kau sendiri tahu perjuangan kau.Kau patut bangga dengan apa yg kau dah achieve sekarang.Mmg tak best bangga sendiri.Umpama duduk dalam dunia sendiri yg kosong.Tak dapat nak share kegembiraan dengan sesiapa.

Kenapa aku berkarya?Kenapa aku lukis dan buat cerita dalam bentuk komik?Sebab itu adalah expresi aku.Bukan pasal aku nak tunjuk aku tere lukis walaupun naluri setan aku mahu aku fikir begitu.Sebab aku tahu tak guna mengukur kehebatan melukis kerana akan sentiasa ada org lebih hebat dari kamu.Jadi aku mencari satifaksi atau kepuasan diri.

Aku suka berkhayal, berangan ttg dunia ini, kerekter itu.Jadi dgn medium komik aku boleh release semua itu.Aku ingin share khayalan ku.Aku mahu mereka enjoy dengan khayalan ku.Bukan nak layan ganja sama sama pon.Aku harap bila Andika ni release, ada lah nama aku di catit oleh sesiapa di mana2 website.Tu dah kira cam Pre-Nesan aku secara digital la.

Jadi nanti komik ANDIKA aku keluar, belilah.Best woooooo..... ^_^

Letih Dan Malas

Urghhhh....Aku memang ada penyakitlah...penyakit MALAS.Sepanjang 3 minggu aku bergelut dengan penyakit ini.Kerja aku ter-drag hampir sebulan yg patutnya boleh siapkan dlm masa 2 minggu.FB pun aku malas nak tulis apa apa...just browse tgk apa jadi ngan life orang.Sekarang dah start ok sket...dah ada momentum balik but still tak cukup.Kerja perlu disiapkan kalau tak, kering poket nanti...ni pun dah nak run out dah ni.Dan sebab tu jugaklah aku ada daya nak update blog hampeh ni.

2011 bermula dengan kelembapan yg maksima.Takde apa apa yg promising menenti aku untuk masa terdekat ni.Maybe salah aku jugak kot...tak prep aku punya stuff for the future...memang tough jugak jadi freelance artis nih.Life tu mungkin ada la sket nak spent tapi hari2 risau bil2 dan hutang2 yg nak dibaya pada bulan depan.SO far alhamdulillah ada satu job yang bole menyambung survival aku untuk satu tempoh yang dekat ni tapi untuk jangka panjang masih takde lagi.Aku risau.Aku blur.Masa untuk buat atau sambung projek sendiri masih takde.Okla mungkin masa tu aku bole force tapi semangat tu.Level paras bawah bosan...Ah Demm betul!!
Few weeks ago masa aku dilanda masalah malas takle buat keje aku sempat siapkan Draft Story komik lama aku - Medan Azazil.Dah tahu dah ending dia cemana tapi nak buat komik mmg mustahillah.Cerita aku stok panjang berzaman.Tak reti aku nak buat cerita pendek.Tapi aku ada some ideas cemana nak release gak this story.

SO basically kat tgn aku ada 3 story and idea yang aku rasa patut bole buat duit or dgn kata lain jadi kaya.But than aku pikir balik....bole ke jadi kaya ke ngan bende ni sume?Serius aku cakap...aku dah tak larat buat job storibod....sgt stresful pasal banyak nak pakai otak.Nasib pymnt yg latest storibod job ni ada ampun sket.Nak buat team tapi masih tak jumpa candidate sesuai...yg ada ni pun masih buat aku rasa aku sorang je yg buat.Ah penat siot.
Entahlah...kekadg tgk nasib org lain yg baik2 ni rasa mmg tak fair je hidup tapi nasib baik aku ada ugama so boleh fikir waras lagi.Kesian gak tgk bini aku asyik struggle keje nak cover bahagian lain.Aku nak buat wife aku dok umah je tak yah keje dan aku boleh kasi dia duit sume.Aku tak mahu pikir kekayaan dan duit adalah segalanya....tapi somehow stress ni sume akan bawa ke jalan tu jugak.Cemana la aku nak set otak aku nih for future...umur dah tak muda lagi.

Oklah aku nak tulis bahasa rojak jelah pas ni....

Beberapa hari yg lepas kerja aku untuk SALADIN the animated series telah di siarkan di RTM1 pada hari Sabtu pada pukul 7 30 ptg.So pas ni every Saturday at 7 3 0pm silalah duduk di depan tv anda untuk menonton cerita yg di buat oleh anak tempatan ini.Dalam Saladin ni aku punya part adalah storyboard artist dan ada 3 org lagi yg buat kerja sama mcm aku ni untuk projek ini.Sume power2.

Result kat TV sgt best compare masa aku tgk kat opis dulu.Projek ni aku involved start pada tahun 2008.Aku masuk dah agak half way projek ni jalan so dari ep 1 sampai ep 7,aku punya part memang sikit je...mostly on amendments(repair)je.Start aku betul2 involve ialah episod 8 yg ada scene pegang kiub nak cari harta tu dengan scene ada lompat2 kat curam...ha tu aku fully involve lah.

Pas tu ada berita baik lagi,aku di beritahu tak lama lagi komik pendek WAR OF THE WORLD:GOLIATH(http://www.wotw-goliath.com/) untuk keluaran magazine HEAVY METAL(http://www.heavymetal.com/) untuk edisi January 2011 akan di terbitkan tak lama lagi.First job international comic aku....

Than beberapa bulan lepas juga...aku dan kerja aku keluar dalam paper Berita Harian untuk ruangan Di Sebalik Nama(http://www.bharian.com.my/bharian/articles/DiSebalikNama_LangkahNanzo/Article/index).Setelah lebih dari 10 tahun involve dlm bidang ni,barulah aku rasa kerja aku mula di pandang dan di terima org or at least tahu kewujudan aku.Sedara mara aku pun mula sedikit paham dengan kerja aku.Aku berharap yg terbaik saja selepas ini.

Sekarang ni aku sibuk ngan freelance untuk cari duit baya bill bulanan sampai nak buat ANDIKA aku pun tersangkut-sangkut.Bila tak buat kerja nak buat komik rasa dah tak terdaya.Haishh..entahlah.Sedang mencari kekuatan mental untuk membalancekan ini semua.

In Love With Cintiq!

Aku sekarang di landa kemaruk CINTIQ 21UX.Apakah bendanya ini?Mungkin korang pernah tengok orang lukis kat Pad kelabu (atau putih atau hitam etc)sambil fokus di monitor pc.Cintiq ni,kita lukis direct di monitor.Lebih feel dan accurate dengan lukis real.
Dulu aku tak pandang sgt pasal aku tak into digital art sgt tapi selepas 3 tahun pakai Wacom aku dah start jatuh cinta ngan Cintiq.Masa tu aku rasa aku tak memerlukannya memadai ngan Wacom aje.Tapi sekarang kerja aku require kepantasan dan demand untuk menghasilkan kerja yg terbaik dan aku pasti Cintiq adalah pencetus perasaan itu.Harga memang mahal gila...tapi aku sanggup mengumpul dari sekarang untuk memilikinya di meja kerja aku ini atau so called my own studio nih.Doakan aku berjaya memiliknya kerana pasti aku akan memaksimakan skill aku melaluinya.Oh Cintiq.....

Comic,Jobs and Bills

It has been more than a month I've not updating my blog here.I have to hold the ANDIKA project for a while as I got some important jobs to be completed.It feels a bit suck that I have to halt the project when I was in a big spirit to do it.But I need to eat and pay bills...so I got to sacrifice.
I'm a bit worried if the publishers that I aim for will lose interest on my comic due to my long delay.Anyway I'm trying to finish up the jobs by this 20th June and I'm going to continue to finish up the ANDIKA project.My estimation of complete ANDIKA....in another 3 month.....but....if the publisher agreed, ANDIKA might be released a bit sooner but as a 1st part from the whole story.But that is still under negotiation....Above is a Perang Kampung art that I do for XLID's comic as a guest artist.Perang Kampung is a winner of IPCC comic as well same year as me.It will be released soon.

After 13 years in silence,Groundwerk Gather for a Storm

Pada tgh malam Sabtu dekat kol 12pm,Azan dan Jiji iaitu pejuang2 Groundwerk aka comic awal 90s tiba di rumah aku.Tah apa mimpi Azan nak gather semula.Port di umah aku tgh malam....aduh takle blah betul.Tapi team ni dah lama tak gather secara begini iaitu comic brainstorm.So mlm tu mmg mlm yg sangat berilmu.
Secara ringkas aku terangkan Groundwerk ni di tubuhkan bila kitaorg dah tak larat tgk filem2 melayu zaman kitaorg masa tu(90s)teruk sgt di samping semangat nak buat komik yg kental.Kami mula berkenalan dan berkumpul dan masa tu berusaha nak publish komik di bawah bendera Groundwerk.Namun berbagai rintangan yg kami tidak berjaya tepis membuatkan team ini selalu terperosok ke bawah tanah bekali kali.Akhirnya masing2 buat hal sendiri......

Isse selaku ahli Groundwerk juga,tiba awal pada pukul 8 mlm.Dia mmg terkenal dgn kehadiran awalnya kalau nak compare ngan kitaorg.Wife aku,Deby juga sgt sporting membiarkan kutu kutu ini lepak sampai 5 pagi kat umah.Siap buat air lagi.Memang wife yg supportive.Mojo terpaksa di kurung di dlm bilik khasnya kalau tidak dia akan jd hyper tak tentu arah pasal dia bole jd tak betul kalau ada org ramai kat umah.
Bermula dgn kesulitan pada Azan yg first time yg nak menjejaki umah aku yg kat Puncak Jalil ni.Berjanji ngan Jiji nak amik dia kat LRT Bukit Jalil end up sorang tunggu kat Bukit Jalil dan sorang ada kat stesen Puncak Jalil.Pas tu sorang gi stesen Puncak Jalil yg sorg lak gi ke stesen Sri Petaling.Dgn kepakaran semulajadi GPS wife aku,mereka bertemu jua setelah hampir 2 jam mundar mandir di sekitar Bukit Jalil.

Azan membawa selonggok artwork purba kami dan kami longgokan dan kami kaji kerja lama kami.Ada yg bole di banggakan ada yang di jadikan bahan gelak kitaorg.Melihat artwork2 kami,terpercik api semangat untuk bersatu semula tapi masing2 rasa takut dgn kekecewaan masa lepas...especially aku.Aku tahu team ni bole bawak something dlm komuniti cuma kami tak tahu tahap semangat kitaorg ni cukup kuat utk gerakkan team ni semula.Groundwerk ni bukanlah team yg boleh lukis komik je semata.Groundwerk ni semangat artis yang nak share idea2 yang berguna untuk generasi akan datang.Asas idea kami adalah dari pengalaman hidup susah senang kehidupan kami dan kita ni berteraskan bangsa yang beragama.Mix up dengan fantasi untuk merapatkan diri dengan golongan yang ingin membuka mata.

Diskusi malam sampai ke pagi itu berselang seli dgn ilmiah rohani yang juga ingin kami serapkan kat mana2 story kitaorg in future.Gathering ni sebenarnya ialah nak try compile artwork lama dan bukukan dan jual.Projek ni aku gelar Groundwerk Origin(nama sementara)-Segala artwork dan komik purba kami akan dipaparkan dlm buku ni.Yang huduh dan yang terbaik.Semuanya kerja2 lama kami.Yang tak ter-release2 sampai skrg.Mostly komik pun tak abis tapi kitaorg bedal je nak compile dlm ni.

Kami bersurai pada pukul 5 dekat kol 6.

7 month recap

Wow...It's almost April 2010 and the last time I left a post here was on August 09...I guess I'm not really good being a blogger hahaha.Hmm...Let me summarize up what has happened in this past 7 month.

- I have completed 95% of my IPCC - ANDIKA comic.It's also available in digital version on the web but just for a teaser.Here is the link - www.nanzoworks.com.Watch and support me haahaha..

- My contract with SALADIN as a storyboard artist has ended and I am no plan to works in the company so I have decided to do full time freelancer.I know,it is a suicidal job with wife to take care and a tonz of bills to pay,but I just can't see I can work by following time,traffic jams,to adapt with new people and environments and end up with a low salary for my experience anymore.
So far I've managed to solve those monthly commitment but I know I need to do something drastic for my income for the future survival.

-I am still looking for the right publisher for my comic.It's not that easy if you have a long term plan in your head.

- I am planning to do some free gift through my art in my website soon,paid art commission and sell some stuff such as my ANDIKA art on t shirt,posters,prints etc....still in plans.....lots of problems to be solve first.

- I have upgraded my PC.More powerful than before and it is my second lover now.I'm hooked with Dawn Of War 2 games now...next if my financial is good,wanna buy Storm SCOUT casing and a secondary monitor.Important for me to boost my spirit!

Basically now,I'm working my ass now just to pay the bills...Still trying to look for bigger jobs to maintain financial for more month ahead.Small and urgent jobs are good though but that is just for the pocket money.I must think how to FIND the jobs rather than WAIT for the jobs comes to me.That is my problem now.I don't know how to do that.If I just go to their office and ask for jobs that would make myself looks desperate and they may give me a cheap pay instead for a heavy jobs.I m looking for proper and professional deal.Something if I do art for books,it would be a 10 title books for a year contract....something like that.But I just don't know to deal it in the right way.

I'm a bit stressed at where I am now....how to move forward..how to change your life for a better one....get more and better income....to control your income.....you have a product but still can't go anywhere.Oh GOD please help me show me the way....

Bulan Ramadhan dah dekat...lately ni aku asyik teringat parent aku yang dah meninggal dunia.Betapa aku rindu diorang.Sebak kat dada ni aku tahan pasal kalau di layan aku tak dapat nak maju ke depan.Sembahyang pun hampeh.Aku kecewa ngan diri aku sendiri.Kerana kejayaan dlm diri sendiri tu masih tak tercapai lagi.

I've just finished budgeting the pages count through my 95 percent plot/story flow of ANDIKA.It takes a total 90 pages if I include all the plot that i've been written.The rule mentioned comic pages can't be more than 60 pages.So I try to cut here and there but still didn't enough to be less than 60 pages.I need to cut more if I wanted to fit with the rule and that means I have to compress panels in a page which I hate because it will ruined my freedom in composing the scene , lots of dialogue or narration,balloon space will be pack in a certain page and most importantly the development of the characters and story might be a bit ruined.
I am already tired to rearranged the plot for the right amount of pages for tonight so I will continue tomorrow and hopefully I managed to get the pages right and start to sketch thumbnails of comic layouts before this september where that day,the judge wanted to check the winners storyline and plan .
Oh by the way monday next week the MSC IPCC have a press lunch for IPCC winners shoot at The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.Hmm..I'm not really sure how fun is it but the free lunch is matters.Got to sleep.Good night everyone.

We did it!
For the first time we did it as a team.It was a thrilling day.We cannot say much about the future plans till we heard the result.Team for this pitch are Me,Nanzo as the leader of the project,Chin Yew as the ultimate presenter and Max as the Visual Presentation Operator.Well basically that is not our 'real' function in the team.It s more like this;

After month and weeks stay late and travel far back and forth to complete the submission,we finally managed to make it worth.

Our presentation started at 11.20 right after the tea break.I started to introduce my fellow team to the fellow judges and give the mic to Chin Yew for the presentation.As Max started the Flash presentation(with soundtrack) Chin Yew started his rock act and it catches the judges intention from start till end of his presentation.I have to admit Chin Yew has the edge when it comes to presentation.We closed the presentation by showing them 3 pages of our BETA interactive comic.

When QnA with the judges time I was a bit surprise when there were not much negative comments from them.They even said that they might vote it as they love the story infront of me.Damn I don't know how I wanted to control my face that time.Judges were positive towards our material and we re blessed with that.As the other contestant present,we started to getting more nervous except Chin Yew.He is so confident we can win from the started.I dont want to think about winning and losing that time.Just wanna get it over with it, soon(sure I wish to win,duh!).So we decided to go Alamanda and watch a movie.

The result were announced at 7pm due to wait from the animation judges votes.They announce 6 winners from the animation competition first.

After that they announced 10 winners from the Comic Competition which each of the winner received rm20k.And guess what?Our team was the first to be announced!We were so happy and relief...for all the hard work.I was been told that our comic and presentation was the highest mark for that day.All of this giving me a new hope and spirit.

I will show some pre artworks and comics for this ANDIKA project here later.

IPCC 2009

Early this week I've received an email that I'm one of the finalist of IPCC comic.Hmm...Now I'm worried about the presentation which is definitely not my forte.I guess till that day comes I will busy preparing my stuff for the presentation.This saturday I have to go to the workshop which been held by the IPCC organizer for the finalist.It's 9 am in the morning till 12pm.Luckily there s a free lunch.Here are my rough sketches of the characters.

Yeah,I know....so many time already...I just have to do it to find my spark.I am planning to post my lately project here and also....my old comic and stuff, IF I have the time.
Quick update of myself since the last post,I have quit from comic company call KLP as they've shut down and change their business profile...Now I am with an animation team in cyberjaya as a storyboard artist for a year already.My contract ends on this december.Since I left KLP I have involve some freelance projects to established networks and extra cash for my monthly fees.My wife has quit her job as a lawyer since her dad past away a morning after my birthday and now she is doing good making western foods on the government cafe.
And I 'm also have moved form apartment to a landed house...of course we just rent it.
I adopted a cat!He was a kitten the time I adopt him after requesting permission with her mom.I named him Mojo and now he is 8 month year old.He is so active and naughty boy but I love him so much!
Lately I am participating in a comic contest run by some government body.The prize are amazingly great for a comic contest.I hope this will spark my drawing spirit back.At the same time , me and one of my friend trying to make an animation short.We are still discussing the concept and story.It's quite hard actually because we 're live so far and can only meet 2 times a week at late night.He has same case as me....only that he is more in technical 3d.Hope all the best for us because this project quite crucial for us especially for me.

I've started working at new place in cyberjaya as a storyboard artist.Hmmm...nuthin much to say
besides trying to adapt with the new environment and all.At the same time the DBP comic project also has started but i will start it on Monday anyway so at Saturday(night),I'm inspired to paint VENOM and i wanted to paint as fast as i could.But sadly it takes me basically 2 days.I need to paint and practice more to improve this skill.I've been thinking that i should paint at least 1 in a week.I hope I could managed that with the tight schedule and all.
It's a very hot season in KL make me miss Tokyo so much.I wish I have aircond in my apartment.I need to take a shower and sleep.

WHAT IS DREAM JUNKIES are all about?Simple....To make a great art or comics or anything related , to be recognized...not for fame but for appreciation on our work and hard effort.Maybe we were all new to some of you but some of us has been in this field for more than 10 years.Now consisting of friends and well talented people,we're unite to create a long last legacy from our works.We are trying to practice a calloboration culture in works and to show how these kind of work that we do has it own class in socitey,market and value.To do the art,you have to have a heart and that is the most valuable piece ever.Art should be fun and bold.That is what we re all about.Fun and bold. WHAT WE ARE DOING now are basically and mostly doing freelance jobs.Not necessarily every jobs we re all involve together.It depends on the price and the complexity of the jobs.However we re always try to find a way to do at least tag team style.But now we are working on more to comic project.We are trying to make it by teamwork.We do from writing to finishing layouts.Other than that we are also do animation mostly 2d but we also have a collabaration with some of our 3d friends,web design and other Pre Pro Design stuff.We re still exploring ourselves on how far we can go with our Godgifted talents.

WE ARE DREAMING to be the MAIN CREATIVE CONTENT PROVIDER to any creative related company around the world, to have our own not so big comic studios, not just in Malaysia but also in Tokyo,New York,UK and Greece, to have a VERY WELL PAID on every of our jobs we do, have our own GAME studio ,most of the well known hot ladies around the world recognize and crazy about our works...hehehe... and last but not least...to have a great life in what we do with our love one...friends and family.Now you are all know why we named ourselves with this name.Its a huge dream but we will try to do our best to make the best stuff and try to make our dream into reality.It's definately not easy but everything must started from a dream.We just have to believe in it and work our ass on it.Your supports and believing in us out there are also crucial for our quest.So please don't givin up on us.

Now let me introduced you all with 2 of our comrades here.Let me begin with Max.He's known as the hard core gamers.He loves to draw and always try to find ways to keep his work improves.Actually he is good at web designing but I see potential in him in drawing.He loves comic and animation as well.In fact, he has helped me a lot when we were together with my other friends making short animation teaser project.He was handling Animo that time.Now with his knowledge in Painter,we joined to create hopefully something cool in these group.Here are some of his work.

Tapi today is a sweet day i mean ari Rabu...Petang tadi aku,Max ngan Isse Chaplez hang out sat kat bilik studio aku ni.Max tolong aku adjust something(thanks a lot Max)so aku ngan Isse Chuplaz bertarung Winning Eleven(WE).Isse sebelum ini WE adalah 'Legend'...bak katanya.Okla memang dia selalu menang dalam game ni TAPI...hari ini....Legend sudah jadi Looser kerana tewas 4 - 0 ngan aku.Yup!Isse the legend dah kalah.No more victory dance and saiko noise from him when dia shoot gol.Aku tak nafikan...dalam 8 ke 10 kali match kitaorg ari ni,Isse mmg sentiasa menang ngan gol 1 - 0 atau 2 -1.Tapi sekali aku kalahkan dia......4 tanpa balas.Ia adalah nikmat utk aku hari ini bagi.Well bak kata ko Isse...don't hate the player,hate the game...hehehe...

Baby Projects Working in Hibernate

There are 2 comic titles that i ve been save for more than 10 years to be released.Why it's so special and why i've kept it hibernate for a long time?I'm also not sure.Maybe because these 2 stories took me a lot of time to sort out their facts.Or maybe it reminds me of how determine of me back in the day when i was into these stories.Or maybe these stories would bring me somewhere in the industry?

Whatever the reason is, i got to released these two titles that i consider as my baby project.I think these are the 2 stories that I write with my experience,knowledge and heart.I put my soul in it.So its a pure work of mine.Though some of it may have a collaboration with other artist.

It was Guardians Of The Gate (GOTG)that started me getting serious in the comic.I have draw a bunch of strips with only a dozen that i managed to finalize the work.It was pure and detail but it still not original enough and a poor presentation for me.Also i realized these kind of story is big.I need to be matured enough to make these story flow well.The magic and action and art are just for the good setting and good presentation but the real content of the stories were these 8 main characters.Their past,their choices in living,their relationship with other characters and responsibilities were the main core of this story.Its a dark drama action story or maybe a dark thriller action story...i don't know.

I have finished writing the 1st volume of the stories,finished main plot writing for vol 2 and 3.I thought GOTG will end at vol 4 but after write and rewrite the plot and facts and all,it may take 6 volume max.The whole facts of the story was a challenging one.I have to readjust some story just because i have to replace the old ideas.And some ideas got to relate with other ideas or the story will be disastrous.Thats why i need to be careful and thorough in the story writing so there will be no more adjustment when the drawing starts.

For me the stages now are almost complete for GOTG.I think the drawing stage or at least design stage can be started somewhere around September or October or maybe sooner depends on my freelance jobs.

I have stopped checking and write Medan Azazil(MA) for a quite long time because of lots of reason.The main reason was to finished GOTG first,because GOTG story has developed progressively while MA still have a loop holes in the storyline especially on the characters.And it was always a dilemma for me to make it as one whole shot story that will end in one volume or to make it last till 4th or 5th volume to complete the story.I can only write back on MA when i have finished writing GOTG so i wont messed up the stories.

All i can say about MA is its involved with jin(Djin) and humans in the Jin world.War was going like forever between them.It has dark scheme ,a well long term evil organize plan ,with a little boy who the only one that can restore the peace there.

I really hope i managed to release these 2 titles on market on time.One thing for sure,I need a team to complete these project.I will try to keep on updates about this matters.

Its already 2008.Nothing much for me but only a will to find a lot of money as i could and to make my carrier more meaningful.
Everyday i have to battle myself with the fast limited time to achieved what i want to be.Daily at the comic job are pretty exhausting.It seems that i live in a dream with the dream job but its actually not.For me its just a responsible that i ve to take care of.Maybe because of the limited freedom in work or not enough paid considering with what i ve been through in the industry or maybe my focus has been shifted or grow to something bigger.I m not sure.One thing that i m sure of,i got to do something to improvise my skills and especially myself for a bigger objectives.

I m tired of people who use our kind of expertise cheaply.They think art are easy to do.Anything related with ideas flowing through the hands and materialized it in any kind of form are expensive.Maybe thats the reason i m not too keen doing comics anymore.Its just work.I ve learned and studied the knowledge too long but my paid still like i just involved in the industry.
I dont have to memerized writers,artists or comic titles all around the world just to show that i am the true comic artist because i think its unnecassary.What you can do and how you can delivered in time is what counts.

Artists nowadays also have a different views in this related kind of matters.I m having problems to share my ideas...maybe it too old for them but i believed the idea will never be old or season if it has a revolutionary touch which is i m into.Or maybe i m too scared to share it,because of the negative rejection and all.

Now i am seeking freelance jobs as much as i can because seriously my monthly paid are never enough to support my monthly expenses.I have no savings and i have a lot of debts.This driving me to seek a lot of freelance jobs and sadly i m not in the position YET to demand price but im heading for that way when i managed to settle my debts and gain some savings.When that time comes,they will consider our kind of jobs more seriously with a serious kind of payment.

My baby project (comic/novel)had to be kiv as i ve to settle my financial by doing freelance jobs but that doesn t mean that i m not involved in any comic job instead of my daily job.I have a project with my colleague to do short comic and one more come up where im just a storyteller and they will draw it.Maybe,maybe i will draw one comic after they ve done those 2 title....i m not sure.

I just hope this will be a good and great year for me.A turning back for me to get moving towards my objectives and dreams.Aminnnnn.....
